Tracks / Levels | There are four tracks: Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral (PhD equivalent), and Post-Doctoral. |
Who Can Participate | Foreign citizens or stateless persons (including compatriots abroad). Age & prior-education requirements vary by track: • Bachelor: ages 16-23; no prior Bachelor/Specialist/Master’s degree. • Master: ages 20-33; have or completing Bachelor’s degree. • Doctoral: ages 22-35; have or completing Specialist’s or Master’s degree; no doctoral degree yet. • Post-Doctoral: ages 24-39; hold a doctoral (PhD or equivalent) degree. |
Language | Official languages of the competition are Russian and English. |
What Winners Get | • Tuition-free study under the Russian Government Quota for Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral tracks. • If needed, free preparatory faculty courses for Russian language training. • Runners-up in Bachelor’s & Master’s tracks may get the same rights, depending on available quota places. • Post-Doctoral winners get employment offers as researchers at participating universities. |
Stages of Participation | Different for each track: • Bachelor’s & Master’s: Two stages — (1) portfolio submission; (2) completing tasks. • Doctoral: Three stages — portfolio, tasks, and interview(s) with supervisors/managers. • Post-Doctoral: Three stages — portfolio; video presentation & supervisor selection; interviews with heads of research projects. |
Registration & Deadline | Registration is done online via the IT platform on the official site. Registration for all tracks opens September 1 and closes November 16, 2025. |
Portfolio & Documents | During registration, participants submit portfolio, required documents, identity verification etc. All supporting documents must be in English or Russian (or translated). |
Second Stage Details | • For Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral: identity verification, proctored format, webcam + desktop monitoring. • Tasks duration: 175 minutes for written tasks + an oral task (5 minutes) etc. • Appeals allowed for Second stage written tasks. |
Third Stage (Doctoral / Post-Doctoral) | Interviews; selection by supervisors or heads of research projects. Results are final and not appealable. |
Multiple Tracks / Subject Areas | If a participant qualifies in more than one track or subject area, they must choose one track and subject area in which to accept the award. |
