University Of Malta Scholarships

The University of Malta seeks to attract top quality students from countries outside the European Union/EEA and is offering tuition fee waivers of 40 to 100 per cent awarded to most deserving students. Bench fees for certain programmes may still apply. The fee waiver will apply for the normal duration of the programme being followed. If extensions of the period of study are required, these may not necessarily be eligible for a fee waiver.

Only applicants who have been accepted unconditionally to read for a Master by research or a Ph.D. on a full-time and part-time basis are eligible to apply.

	60–69% score → 60% waiver
	50–59% score → 40% waiver
	0–49% score → No waiver
Selection Basis	Academic merit, research proposal, CV, interview, motivation, personal circumstances
Application Deadline	Next major deadline: 30 April 2026 (for courses starting October 2026)
Bench/Lab Fees	May still apply where relevant (not covered by waiver)
Coverage Duration	Waiver applies for the standard duration of the programme (extensions may not be covered)
Living Costs & Travel	Not included in fee waiver; students must cover these separately
Other Conditions	Applicants already enrolled cannot apply; full external scholarships covering both fees & living costs make you ineligible for this waiver scheme
