Numerous nonprofit and private organizations provide scholarships to assist students in funding their college education. These scholarships are awarded based on a range of criteria, such as academic excellence, athletic talent, leadership qualities, chosen field of study and financial need. As a form of gift aid, scholarships do not require repayment.
