The PhD Scholarship in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies is awarded on the basis of academic excellence to a student proposing to conduct, or already conducting, research in any of the specialist areas covered by the Department, including Iberian Peninsular and Latin American literatures, visual cultures and film; Translation Studies; Galician and Catalan Studies. We also welcome applications from those interested in comparative topics, which might include comparisons between the literature, film or culture of different language areas, subject to the availability of relevant expertise in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

| Irish Research Council Enterprise Postgraduate Scholarship (CUBS) | Full tuition coverage (~€5,750/year), a stipend of €16,000, and €2,250 research support expenses for a structured 4-year PhD in social enterprise. |
| Eduardo Saccone PhD Scholarship (Italian Literature) | Covers fees (€5,900 EU / €14,130 non-EU) plus monthly stipend, renewable for up to three years (possibly four). Includes teaching duties. |
